The first full-length trailer for 2018’s Mission: Impossible Fallout has arrived after being aired on the Super Bowl.
In typical M:I model, it is all there. Tom Cruise driving motorbikes, Tom Cruise flying helicopters, Tom Cruise leaping from constructing to constructing and Tom Cruise — after all — beating strangers up in uncomfortable eventualities.
A swashbuckling Tom Cruise, nevertheless, is not the one draw. There’s Henry Cavill, too — taking part in August Walker, the movie’s foremost antagonist — a bonafide MH icon and previous cover star.
“All you really need is to look like you can do it,” Cavill told MH in 2017, speaking about his training for Justice League, the filming of which noticed Cavill get into the very best form of his life.
“But I want to be able to actually do it. Faking it just doesn’t feel right to me anymore. I like going to the gym, I do. But if I’m going to be sweating and breathing hard, I’d far prefer to be doing it while learning a skill, rather than just for the sake of sweating and breathing hard.”
Cavill’s metamorphosis from a slim Duke of Suffolk in 2008’s The Tudors to a shredded Clark Kent (sorry, Superman) has been an extended journey, utilizing a six-month training regime to construct bulk muscle for Man of Steel and transferring ahead to construct leaner, extra purposeful muscle for Justice League and Mission: Impossible Fallout.
Mission Impossible: Fallout hits theatres on July 27th, 2018.
